The E1200 Ultra DMA-100 RAID Series are designed to offer high performance, high reliability and are much more
cost-effective in comparison with Fibre to Fibre, Fibre to SCSI and/or SCSI to SCSI RAID subsystems.
E1200 RAID systems support 2GB Fibre Channel host or single/dual SCSI interface host connections and utilises
cost-effective EIDE/Ultra DMA-100 drives with a simplified storage setup and management process which make
the product line ideal for small to mid-sized companies and departments.
Outstanding Performance
The E1200 utilises the high performance Intel i80303 64 bit RISC processor and intelligent cache system which supports up to256 Mbytes SDRAM for data caching. This enables the host computer to simultaneously distribute multiple requests to the connected EIDE hard drives with high speed parallel data transfer.
The unique E1200 array management firmware utilises multi-tasking real-time kernel technology to enable higher efficiency in data transfer.
"Single drive per independent channel" architecture of the E1200 IDE RAID system not only provides high data throughput per channel but also eliminates overhead disk multitasking in order to increase the data transfer.
High Availability
Advanced algorithms provide RAID levels 0,1,3, 5 or 0+1 options. The user can benefit from either the performance and availability of RAID 0+1 or the capacity and economy of RAID 5.
The hot-swap redundant power/cooling fan systems are able to tolerate a mains failure without interrupting or taking off-line user/client services.
A special latch design on the AC inlet to protect the AC power cord from accidental disconnection
Hot swappable disk drives, cooling fans & power supplies allows easy swap out actively online of faulty components without loss of client or user services due to down-time.
EIDE/Ultra DMA-100 drives in a single disk per channel configuration lowers the risk of failure.
Hot spare for stand-by disk drive. When a hard disk drive error occurs on any of the hard drives, this online hot spare disk drive will automatically & intelligently take over the failed disk drives data storage with zero downtime of the RAID system.
Automatic drive failure detection & automatic online drive rebuilding enables you to replace the hard drive without having to initiate any complicated and time-consuming storage rebuild process. B The E1200 RAID system will transfer the data into the new/replaced hard drives automatically.
Independent Operating Systems. No Matter if it is Windows Me/98, Windows 2000, Widows NT, NOVELL, UNIX or Macintosh; The E1200 RAID series is 100% compatible and transparent
User Friendly
The E1200 RAID system provides extremely user-friendly system set-up. The user can even initiate a RAID as RAID level 5 by only 5 steps via " Quick setup". It can be configured in the following ways:
Control panel GUI interface includes LCD display and four function push-button controls
Monitor Utility, RS-232 emulation terminal providing a text-based menu-driven configuration interface.
Remote management & GUI Manual.
High Reliability
Aluminum fabrication for the hot-swap disk canisters for heat dissipation and emissions protection.
Cableless design utilises solid-state PCB and connectors instead of a cable design to improve the signal integrity/quality and the system reliability.
High quality power system, full 300 watt capacity redundant power modules with the PFC function.
Switch device on the disk canisters to cut off the DC power during hot swapping the disks to protect the EIDE/Ultra DMA-100 signals
Greater Capacity
The E1200 supports up to 12 drives, allowing you to configure systems up to 3 Terabytes with the latest high capacity 250GB Ultra DMA-133 drives.
The E1200 supports On-Line Expansion that allows the user to add new drives to the existing RAID storage array whilst it's still online and re-stripes the data across all of the disk drives.
