Sun Enterprise[tm] 10s
The SUN Ultra 10 is a single processor PCI based workstation/server using the UltraSPARC-IIi 64-bit architecture. The system has a PC style mini-tower layout.
The Ultra 10 is available in both desktop and server versions. The system utilises a single 300Mhz, 333Mhz, 360Mhz or 440Mhz UltraSPARC-IIi Processor. Both the 300Mhz and 360Mhz processors are end-of-life. The 333Mhz, 360Mhz & 440Mhz processors have a 2Mbyte Cache. The CPU is fixed to the motherboard and is not therefore upgradeable. 333Mhz Machines are available with either PGX24 or Creator3D graphics. 440Mhz systems have Elite3D 24-bit graphics. Systems with Creator3D or Elite3D graphics still have the PGX24 frame buffer on the motherboard. These systems are therefore "dual head" capable as standard. All models support up to two 9Gb internal IDE disk drives. The use of IDE disk technology precludes the possibility of adding external disk or tape expansion without purchasing an additional PCI SCSI controller. The motherboard includes a 10/100Mbs Ethernet port and a serial interface. For ease of configuration, we suggest purchasing the system with an internal CD-ROM drive.
360Mhz & 440Mhz systems have the option for 50ns memory which improves system performance.
